Beacons 03:39
it's hard to say when all the things we owned began to own us it's hard to say we chose the world, we chose the wider way our hearts and minds can be such fickle things, of that i'm certain we let our lives get in the way some would say our lives are what we make of them, but i would say there's more to life than just saving face, now i've run away for so long that the path is grayed out the more you lead, the less i stray we've built an alter to ourselves and wonder why we falter now we wonder why our works have failed we chose a foolish way our hearts are yearning for a light to sweep away the darkness beacons of another day

you wore your lies so well we took you in and couldn't tell you set the bait, we fell for every message that you sell it's safe to say we're catching on to all your sick and selfish ways, the jig is up it's time to pay. you should have seen this coming again, so obvious, it's evident that you made your bed and now you're smothering, but we can't forget the days we spent. i guess that we could say we're done with all the games you play we'll take the reins today we are the artists, you're the clay we've come to know your signs and signals we know them oh so well we're over it, or can't you tell? we can't forget. but they say you can't get past this, forget this i say tomorrow comes with a fresh new breath of innocence we haven't always been this bitter, darling let's try to catch the flames capture them before they burn us you should have seen this coming

Rewrite 04:18
after all that's said and done, we're far from perfect we both put faith and love aside, content to drift apart through thick and thin, we swore we'd build each other up sometimes it takes a pair of wounds to heal complacent hearts and i know we won't get through alone and i know it's hard to think that you almost got away, almost ran away how could i have been so blind for so long? this is the point where we get to right the wrongs sing a new song rewrite the story of our lives swear i'll love you more and more from this day forward rebuild the love we let decay and die we are but selfish broken things without a savior still we'll cling onto this hope until the day we die and i know we won't get through alone and i know we'll sing a new song rewrite the story of our lives

you think you have the answers and yet they seem so far away pretend that it's not what you wanted pretend that everything's okay you bottle up all of your worries and now they start to overflow you keep your secrets so close (you really think that i don't know) we're running out of time the more i give, the more you take you flash that smile i know is fake i've failed again by your design this is where i draw the line you burned that bridge i built for you this goodbye's so long overdue i've failed again by your design this is where i draw the line i've lost that silent sense of meaning you've taken more than you can know pretend that it's not what you wanted pretend our futures all away you bottle all your insecurities and now they're starting to explode you're left with guts and broken bones (a mess without a trace of hope) your sickness is a crime
